The Australian Government established a new independent regulator to restore community confidence in management of the Murray-Darling Basin.
The Office of the Inspector-General of Water Compliance was created, with the Inspector-General appointed to ensure compliance and enforcement with the Water Act, Basin Plan, and other resource plans.
Seftons was contracted to develop a comprehensive Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy to support the Office during its commissioning and establishment phase. This included branding management, media relations activities, advertorials to introduce the Inspector General and Field Officers to local Basin communities, development of series of Op Eds and production of four videos.
At the conclusion of the contract period, Seftons developed a Basin-wide Stakeholder Framework and Media Database to support the appointment of the Office's in-house communications team.
