  • 1,600 farmers from across Australia have had their say in the first National Farmer Priorities Survey.
  • Industry sentiment is deteriorating with 1 in 3 farmers less positive about the future of farming than they were 12 months ago.
  • Farmers are worried about a wide range of policy pressures, with market fairness, environment laws and infrastructure funding topping the list.
  • A majority of farmers think the Federal Government’s policies are harming the industry.

Seftons is always looking for new ways to ensure our clients have the most up-to-date information around the sentiment of rural and regional stakeholders, and the wider agriculture industry.

So, we are proud to have partnered with the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) to deliver the National Farmer Priorities Survey, covering all agriculture commodity sectors and geographical regions. We are proud to be involved with this initiative, and subsequent report, which highlights the feelings of farmers across the nation on the issues that matter to them, their families, their industries and the ag sector more broadly.

Policy decisions are often driven by data, and now we will have the data to back up what we, the NFF, and their state and industry organisations are hearing on the ground – with more than 1600 farmers from across the country contributing to these report findings.

The report is a powerful advocacy tool that can help drive a vibrant and prosperous future for those feeding and clothing our nation.
