Developing and running tailored leadership programs
As part of our vision of a vibrant, sustainable future for rural, regional and remote Australia, Seftons is supporting the next generation of leaders.
Our proprietary ‘Creating Rural Leaders’ program is designed for organisations that want to nurture the leadership skills of their key people and equip them to navigate the challenges of rural, regional and remote life. It is tailored to meet the needs of delivery organisations such as the Northern Inland Regional Development Board.
Facilitated by Robbie Sefton, (graduate of the Rural Leadership Foundation and 2002 RIRDC NSW Rural Woman of the Year), the course helps participants see themselves as leaders, understand and strengthen their leadership styles, build their confidence and ambition, and realise their potential as industry practitioners and leaders.
In 2013 we were awarded funding under the Federal Government’s Carbon Farming Futures Extension and Outreach Program to run Young Carbon Farmers, with project partners the Future Farmers Network. The project is working with the next generation of Australian farmers to bring about significant changes in agriculture’s relationship to climate change and greenhouse gas mitigation.
We also work with clients to deliver their own leadership programs, such as the Primary Industries Adaptation Research Network (PIARN) Climate Change Adaptation Master Classes.
