Murray-Darling Basin Water Infrastructure Program

Seftons was contracted by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR), the federal department responsible for the implementation of the Australian Government’s water efficiency measures program, a program under the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. Sefton’s role was to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to share their concerns with Basin governments about efficiency measures, the reasons for their concerns and to suggest alternative criteria and opportunities. Public and stakeholder meetings, ‘haveyoursay’ surveys and submissions were held or received during October and November 2018.

Seftons independent report, Murray-Darling Basin Water Infrastructure Program – Consultation for Additional Criteria prepared for the Murray-Darling Basin Ministers on the public consultation initiative was presented to the Ministerial Council by DAWR on 14 December 2018.
