Seftons was contracted by Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) to run ongoing community consultation and engagement in two western NSW regions during 2016 through to June 2019 for the Inland Rail Project linking Melbourne and Brisbane. Seftons coordinated all engagement activities for this linear infrastructure upgrade, including meeting landholders; coordinating details of access and works arrangements for investigations into ecology, hydrology and geotechnical issues; running community workshops and information sessions; liaising with the media and key stakeholders; gathering and distributing information; and maintaining open and documented lines of communication with all stakeholders. Community interest and participation have been high and as a result, ARTC understands local opportunities and impacts from the proposed rail upgrade and is taking them into consideration.
